Recognized again for leadership in sustainability

Henkel is honored among “World’s Most Ethical Companies” 2016

For the ninth consecutive year, Henkel was named among the “World’s Most Ethical Companies.” The independent Ethisphere Institute annually awards companies that have made a significant impact on the economy through their culture of good corporate governance and transparency. Henkel has also again been listed in the ECPI Global Equity Indices, which focus on environmental, social and governance criteria.

This year, 131 companies from more than 45 different industries representing 21 countries were listed in the “World’s Most Ethical Companies.” The rating recognizes companies that continue to raise the bar on ethical leadership and corporate behavior. Henkel is the only German company among those selected, and is one of just three companies from the “Consumer Products” industry. The rating assesses companies in the following categories: ethics and compliance program, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance and leaderhip, as well as leadership, innovation and reputation.

“Our approach toward sustainability has continued to evolve over the last years, becoming more systematic and addressing an increasing number of environmental and social challenges along our value chain,” said Kathrin Menges, Executive Vice President Human Resources and Chair of Henkel’s Sustainability Council. “For Henkel – as well as many other businesses around the world – it is evident that business has to be part of the solution and the sustainability agenda.”

The renowned rating and index agency ECPI has also confirmed Henkel’s leading role in sustainability. The company’s repeated listing in the Global Equity Indices ECPI recognizes Henkel’s consistent commitment toward a sustainable economy.

By 2030, Henkel aims to triple the value it creates for the footprint made by its operations, products and services. On February 25th, the company published its Sustainability Report 2015, in which the status of the interim targets until 2015 and the new ambitions for 2020 are reported.
