Restoring a preschool hit by tsunami

As part of our ‘Make an Impact on Tomorrow’ initiative, Henkel funded the rebuilding of a preschool in Serang, Banten, after a tsunami struck the region.

With the donation from the Henkel Fritz Foundation, our employees, in collaboration with non-profit organisation Happy Hearts, were able to assist with the restoration of the PAUD Nurul Qur’an preschool.

To create a bright and clean environment conducive for learning, employees helped to paint the classroom walls. In addition, they taught the students to create artworks using sunflower seeds at the temporary holding school.

By January 2020, students and teachers were able to move to the restored school compound. As they ring in the new year, Henkel is proud to have made a difference in the lives of these children by supporting their school rebuilding efforts.
