Henkel has opened a new Application Center in Semarang, Central Java, strengthening its support for the consumer goods industry in Indonesia. Located in one of Indonesia’s key manufacturing regions, the facility serves as a hub for application development, testing, technical support and customer training, enabling closer collaboration with customers and faster development of solutions tailored to local market needs. The opening marks another milestone in Henkel’s long-term investment in Indonesia, complementing its existing manufacturing sites in Tangerang and Pasuruan, as well as its regional Innovation Center in Bintaro.
“As demand continues to grow, we are investing in capabilities that bring us closer to customers and enable us to better support their evolving needs. The new Application Center in Central Java expands our innovation footprint in Indonesia and reflects our long-term commitment to growing alongside our customers and the industry,” said Corbett Wallace, Corporate Vice President, Consumer Goods Business at Henkel Adhesive Technologies.
Spanning approximately 1,400 square meters, the center features dedicated application laboratories, specialized equipment and testing capabilities, collaboration spaces for customer projects, and training facilities for technical education and capability-building programs.
The new facility will serve consumer goods adhesives customers across a range of segments, with a particular focus on footwear and fashion. It will support three key areas: accelerating product development, improving speed-to-market through enhanced technical services, and supporting customer sustainability goals.
“Central Java is an important hub for the footwear and fashion industry and home to a growing concentration of manufacturers. By establishing this new Application Center, we are strengthening our presence across Indonesia, providing customers with faster access to technical expertise, testing capabilities and application support,” said Dharmesh Shah, Head of Consumer Goods Business, Asia-Pacific at Henkel Adhesive Technologies.
In addition to serving as a technical and innovation hub, the Application Center will support knowledge sharing and capability development through customer workshops, technical training programs and industry engagement initiatives.
The Central Java Application Center joins Henkel's global network of application centers across Greater China, Korea, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. Together, these facilities connect local customer needs with Henkel’s broader technology and application expertise, supporting innovation and collaboration across key manufacturing markets.
